Senior Sales Associate

Our staff members provide residents and visitors with in-depth knowledge of sea kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, skiing and snowboarding. Sales Responsibilities
Proactively develop store inventory knowledge, including independent research, participation in clinics, study of catalogs, and participation in trainings
Ensure customers have a fun and memorable shopping experience by providing information on products, options and accessories
Answer store phones and answer customer questions using the website, interviewing co-workers or using other store resources to find answers
Process cash and credit card sales using the point-of-sale system, including recording customer contact information, providing receipts, and informing customers of store return policies
Under the supervision of the AGM, assist with sales on the store’s eBay, Craigslist, and OfferUp accounts, including listing items, answering customer questions, and sending and documenting sold items
If required, act as sales manager, prioritizing results for each workday and ensuring all staff are properly assigned
Open and close the store on time and to meet customer needs
Maintain constant communication with management and staff to ensure the smooth running of the sales department
Assist with pre-sales and delivery of kayaks and SUPs, including establishing pricing strategy, corresponding with customers, scheduling and collecting delivery charges using Rain
Monitor trends and customer requests and suggest new products to buyers and AGM

Additional Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the AGM, record new inventory as it arrives, including checking off each item on the packing slip, printing labels, tagging items, uploading the packing slip, breaking down and recycle packaging and solve missing inventory issues
Assist in organizing new inventory in reserve areas and/or store merchandise
Assist in the processing of online orders, including correspondence with customers and packaging and shipping products
Assist with semi-annual store inventory and additional lot inventories as needed
Assist management with occasional office work including filing, sorting mail, data entry as needed
Process online orders (website and eBay), including preparing inventory, printing shipping labels, shipping
1-3 years of retail and/or sales experience
Must be available on weekends
Must be extremely organized with great attention to detail
Passion or interest in paddle sports/Northwest winter sports
Experience with Quickbooks/Office/Excel an asset
Ability to work with customers and other staff without discrimination
Excellent technical skills. Able to learn web platforms quickly and solve problems independently.
