GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – There was no practice for the Packers on Friday open to the media and the public before Saturday’s big family home evening at Lambeau Field.
THEY SAID IT:
Matt LaFleur spoke to the media on Thursday about the running back competition. Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon have their spots blocked, but what about the third running back? It has become a competition which is a good problem to have. Will it be Kylin Hill, Patrick Taylor or Dexter Williams? At the start of the preseason games, fans will have the chance to watch these three running backs get the majority of the shots.
Family home evening has always been one of the greatest traditions of the Packers. Instead of the NFL referees, LaFleur mentioned that there would be Big Ten officials.
This will be the first time in nearly two years that Lambeau Field has been packed for family home evening. LaFleur didn’t hesitate to see how cool the atmosphere will be. He also did not hesitate to know what the game will be on the field: “It will probably be a little vanilla, because it will be televised. There will be new wrinkles in the three phases that we don’t necessarily want to show. “
LaFleur praised newcomer De’Vondre Campbell: He’s been turned off… You can see the instincts he has, and he’s very, very fluid. He also mentioned that Campbell has pretty much picked up everything since moving to Green Bay.
