You will discover new people, new places and new characters that will instantly warm you up. And you’ll find yourself immersed in incredible places that will instantly rise to the top of your to-do list.

Over 40 years ago, the Kendal Mountain Festival hosted what was then a new low-key two-day event, the Kendal Mountaineering Film Festival. Visitors discovered art, seminars, films, photography and more. “Kendal” had no idea what they started or how influential the event would become. As the event grew and grew in stature and popularity, it attracted more spectators, as well as a veritable “who’s who” of the climbing and mountaineering world. The ‘Kendal Mountain Festival’ has become globally respected as a launch pad and international showcase for mountain and outdoor films, showcasing or screening classics such as ‘Free Solo’, ’14 Peaks’ and ‘The Rescue’ . The Festival has become the leading annual social event for outdoor enthusiasts in the UK and Europe and has established a strong international reputation. Kendal has grown into a global touring film festival that spans across the UK, China and is now coming to the US and Canada for the very first time.

The 2022 North American Tour program has been carefully selected by the UK based festival team. The quality of their selections has brought more than 20,000 outdoor enthusiasts to their legendary event each year. Selected films showcase the world of cutting-edge outdoor storytelling, action sports and adventure. “Kendal” is about adventure, stories of extreme human endurance, breathtaking environments and adrenaline-fueled excitement. This 2022 tour features eight short films about crack climbing, base jumping, skiing, exploring and more! Lasting just over an hour and a half, this collaboration of short films will take the public on the adventure of a lifetime!

The Lincoln Theater is located at 2 Theater St. in downtown Damariscotta. Tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $13 for members, and $5 for youth 18 and under. Tickets are available for purchase at the door starting 30 minutes before showtime, or in advance through the theater’s online box office at
