Proud Boys member running for Sacramento area school board faces off against another candidate

A Proud Boys-affiliated candidate for the San Juan Unified School Board faced off against another candidate at a voter outreach event at a local park on Saturday, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Jeffrey Perrin, member of far-right group Proud Boys, recently filed paperwork to run for the school board. This weekend, he attended a meeting with school board candidate Ben Avey. The two do not race against each other.

Avey wrote on Twitter: “He confronted me, angry that I called the Proud Boys a hate group and tried to compare them to other groups. I made it clear that I believe the Proud Boys are the modern-day Klan.

A video of the pair face to face broadcast on social networks. It shows one of Perrine’s friends pulling him back. Perrine also posted a video of the interaction on his YouTube account.
