Week 5 was interesting for running backs as we saw some great games from rookie Breece Hall, ghost Tevin Coleman, Rhamondre Stevenson, Raheem Mostert and the first big use and distance game of the season. ‘Alvin Kamara. While tight ends and receivers remain fairly consistent, running backs are where you can increase your fantasy prospects by stocking up on saves and committee members you like.
Injury news to watch
Rashaad Penny is over for the season with a broken fibula, which is now pushing rookie Kenneth Walker into the spotlight. He’ll get the job early while DeeJay Dallas should see most of the third down shots.
The Colts RB Nyheim Hines suffered a concussion early in TNF in Week 5, but with the extra time, he’ll likely be cleared in time to face the Jaguars.
Jonathan Taylor missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, but should have a chance to return this week. We will have to keep an eye on his participation in training.
The Cardinals had three running backs in Week 5, with a starter James Conner being the most important. He suffered a rib injury, while Darrel Williams and Jonathon Ward were both ejected from the game. That left Eno Benjamin as the sole back and he played well, scoring a touchdown. Conner probably won’t miss much time, but could miss this week against the sea hawks.
