The big game draw permit application begins June 14

Big game hunters could start applying for elk, antelope and deer pulling permits for 2021 on June 14.

Elk applicants can apply for an elk license or purchase an elk bonus point. Deer and antelope applicants can apply for a deer or antelope permit or purchase a preference point for a deer or antelope. A point can be purchased by an applicant instead of entering the draw.

Requests will be charged a non-refundable fee; bonus and preference point purchases will also be charged a non-refundable fee.

The application period begins at 1 p.m. Central time on June 14. Paper applications must be received by the Nebraska Parks and Games Commission no later than 5 p.m. CST – or no later than 11:59 p.m. for online applications – June 25.

The results of the draws will be available by July 2. Successful applicants will have until July 16 to finalize the purchase of their assigned permits. Permits granted but not paid will result in the loss of preference or bonus points by the applicants and the loss of the permit. Any lost license will be made available to the next unsuccessful candidate at that time. All remaining permits will be available during the appropriate purchase period for the species: roe deer, August 2; antelope, August 3; elk, August 4.

Applicants who provide valid email addresses will be notified when the draw is over. Applicants who do not provide valid email addresses will be responsible for monitoring their online status at OutdoorNebraska.org.
