Oregon offers 2023 4-star running back Trey Holly

One of the nation’s most productive running backs landed a scholarship offer from the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night. 2023 four star running back trey holly received an offer from Oregon running backs coach Carlos Locklyn.

“I am beyond blessed to announce that I have received an offer from the University of Oregon,” Holly announced on social media Saturday night.

Holly holds over 20 scholarship offers, including from programs like Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

Holly has been playing on the Union Parish High School varsity football team in Louisiana since eighth grade. In four seasons so far, Holly has rushed for 7,829 yards and 108 touchdowns. He also caught 46 passes for 764 yards and eight more touchdowns. As a junior last year, Holly rushed for 2,633 yards and 33 touchdowns in 14 games. As a junior, Holly rushed for 44 touchdowns and 2,709 yards.

At 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds, Holly is ranked the 186th best player in the nation, 11th best running back nationally, and 13th best player in Louisiana State according to the 247Sports Composite. Holly was voted Most Outstanding Player for the State Championship Game as a junior despite losing in the title game. As a sophomore in 2020, Holly was voted 3A Outstanding Offensive Player after her school finished second again.

Heading into the 2022 season, the Ducks currently only have two scholarship players on their roster. Oregon should look to recruit one or two players for running back in the 2023 recruiting class. Oregon staff will now begin trying to bring Holly to the Oregon campus.
