CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The University of Tennessee track and field team at Chattanooga changed direction this weekend when Georgia Tech canceled its meet. The Mocs will now travel to Auburn for the War Eagle Invitational which runs Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
“We’re looking forward to a great meeting this weekend at Auburn,” the Mocs head coach said. Andy Meyer mentioned. “It’s always been one of the kids’ favorite competitions. Auburn has great competition and a beautiful setting.”
The meet begins Friday afternoon with the field events followed by the invitational foot races and the 3,000 meter steeplechase.
Kimbra Dunning will kick things off for the Mocs with the long jump at 5 p.m. ET. She will also run the 100 meters on Saturday afternoon with Iman Bryant, Sage Davis and McKenzie Williamson. Bryant, with Ruth Reaganwill compete in the 200 meters.
Carley Burt and Rebecca Pass will be in the 400 meter Dash while Sidney Cansler will compete in the 800 meter race.
Justine Glass is scheduled to run the first leg of the 1500 meter race with Ashtyn Hagood in the second and Allie Potter and Camden Morris in the fourth inning.
Hagood will line up for the 5000 meter race with Lesley Green, Camden Morris and Emma Russum. Faith Brown and Morgan Ouellette will participate in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Gracie Morse will line up for the 100 meters and the 400 meters hurdles. Dunning, Bryant, Davis and Williamson will run the 4×100 meter relay.
jonathan boyd, Eric Mitchell, Kaigen Mulkey, Eammon O’Bryant, Ryan Phillips and Jasper Wilson are all entered in the men’s 5,000 meters in their final event of 2022.
“This is our final tweak before the conference meet, so many kids will be racing or participating in events to help their specific event at the conference meet at the end of the month,” Meyer said. “This meet is a great way for the kids to see some top notch competition before they get to the SoCon Championships. It will be a chance for some of them to improve on their current rankings and get into the faster rounds of the conference. “
