BJ Penn knows what he wants to do with his post-fight career … lead the state of Hawaii, as the UFC legend has announced he is running for governor of Aloha State! !!
UFC Hall of Fame member Penn, 42, threw his hat in the proverbial (Octagon?) Ring this week, and even introduced several policies that he would immediately overthrow.
“As soon as I step into the governor’s office of Hawaii, I will remove all new federal and state mandates that have hurt our economy, our residents and ‘ohana,’ BJ wrote.
“We will have the best doctors, drugs, therapy and healthcare the world has to offer to fight this pandemic and keep Hawaii always among the safest and healthiest states in the Union.”
Penn – who last fought in the UFC in 2019 – also vowed to remove the policy requiring people traveling in the state to be vaxxed, writing… “We will get rid of all vaccine passports. Hawaii will be vaccinated. with Aloha and unvaccinated with Aloha everyone policy. “
On the masks? Similar agreement.
“Same with the masks 😷. We will follow the constitution to the end 👌. I am not there to be one with the other politicians, I am here to recover our freedoms!”
Of course, BJ had several clashes with the law in recent years … but the great MMA does not hide its past, tackling it head on.
“I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I would never run away from a fight or sell my people.”
Democrat, David Igé, is the current governor of Hawaii. His term ends at the end of next year.
The election, which BJ hopes to win, will take place on November 22, 2022.
