FROM THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced that 2022 state park and forest entry passes go on sale November 26.

Get ahead and give those seeking adventure access to some of Wisconsin’s most scenic areas, including thousands of miles of trails, dozens of beaches, and a wide variety of outdoor recreation opportunities.

“We are delighted to offer admission stickers and trail passes earlier this year and look forward to welcoming visitors to our parks, forests and state trails for an after-day adventure. Thanksgiving, ”said Steve Schmelzer, DNR director of parks. “Visitors can celebrate the New Year a month early by purchasing admission stickers online, at state parks and forest properties, or over the phone. “

The 2022 stickers and passes for entry to parks, forests, recreation areas and trails are valid from the date of purchase until December 31, 2022.

Vehicle Admission Stickers provide access to more than 60 state parks, forests, and recreation areas across Wisconsin.

Stickers are mandatory on all motor vehicles visiting national parks and recreation areas. Some state forests and trail parking areas also require the sticker.

Give the outdoors as a gift by purchasing admission stickers and passes for family, friends and colleagues in time for the holidays. MNR recommends purchasing stickers before Friday, December 10 to receive them before the holidays.

A state pass is required for anyone 16 years of age or older who biking, rollerblading, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, or motorcycling on state trails specific. A state pass is not required for walking or hiking.

An admission sticker costs $ 28 for Wisconsin residents or $ 38 for non-residents. If there is more than one vehicle registered in the same household, additional stickers for state parks and forests are available for $ 15.50 for residents and $ 20.50 for non-residents. A $ 13 annual senior citizen sticker is available for residents of Wisconsin aged 65 and over. Annual trail passes are $ 25 for residents and non-residents.

Annual admission stickers for residents and non-residents are available online and at state parks and forest properties through ATM service, self-check-in kiosks, or by phone. State passes are only available at individual properties.

Those interested in purchasing a bulk order of annual admission stickers on their own or on behalf of their organization can complete this questionnaire and MNR staff will assist them in placing the order.
